The Ministry Support Team hosts the SRE Office on behalf of the Archbishop, and provides training and accreditation for throughout the diocese for Primary School SRE teachers. It also provides advisory, training and coaching services, conferences, strategic planning and resources to churches and their leaders regarding children’s and youth ministry.

About the role

The MST Administration and Communications Assistant/Specialist role assists the Ministry Project Coordinator in ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of the team’s ministries and events, particularly in developing and implementing communications and social media plans in a partnership with other youthworks teams. The events include but aren’t limited to: Leaders in Training, House conference, Square One, SRE Conference and smaller events such as Leader Training days and SRE Accreditation Training. 

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the implementation and coordination of Ministry Support’s major events  

  • Assist the Head of SRE Office in developing and implementing the communications strategy of the Youthworks SRE Office  

  • Managing and regularly maintain MSTs contact database in order to keep accurate records for effective communications 

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and courteous manner and communicate accurate and consistent information as it relates to Youthworks’ and its activities

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and to be flexible to reflect changes in priority 

  • A systematic and focused approach to tasks with a strong attention to detail 

  • An ability to work with a wide range of employees to achieve effective outcomes 

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications 

  • Willingness to attain and maintain church-based safe ministry / safe church training programs 

  • A personal Christian faith and willingness to work within an Anglican organisation 

  • Commitment to work with Youthworks’ mission across the various arms of the organisation. 

What we would really like you to have

  • Marketing experience 

  • Experience in conference/event administration
