How Square One keeps growing — from 100 kids to 832

Back in 2012, your support helped launch a brand-new camp called Square One with just 100 kids from a handful of Sydney churches. Fourteen years on, that same camp has grown beyond anything anyone expected.

Emma, the director of that very first Square One, put it best:

“When we started Square One in 2012 with 100 kids from a handful of churches from across Sydney, we never dared imagine the rate at which it would grow and provide a space for the gospel to have such an impact on so many children near and far. Nothing is impossible with God!”

In 2025, Square One ran across both winter and spring, with a total of 832 kids and 244 leaders attending. That’s extraordinary growth since those early days.

What makes Square One different is the partnership model your generosity helps sustain. Children don’t attend on their own. Leaders bring kids from their own church communities — so the relationships built over a camp weekend don’t end when everyone goes home. There’s a natural pathway for ongoing discipleship and pastoral care back in the local parish.

Square One was born out of a simple recognition: many churches wanted to run camps but didn’t have the people, resources, or experience to do it alone. Your support helped bridge that gap.

Thanks to you, hundreds more children each year are hearing the gospel and growing in faith — surrounded by leaders who know and love them.

Square One is running three camps in 2026 - Winter: 29 - 31 May, Spring #1: 30 Oct - 1 November and Spring #2: 6 - 8 November.
