From Australia to Tanzania — your generosity is changing how families pray together

Your support for Youthworks is having an impact you might never have expected — in a Tanzanian diocese with more than 300 churches spread across a vast and remote region.

Katie has been serving there in children’s ministry with a mission organisation for almost 16 years. For most of that time, she struggled to find quality gospel-centred children’s resources in Swahili, so she decided to write a 52-week curriculum from scratch.

But parents needed help too. Increased internet access was exposing children to harmful content, and churches were telling Katie that families didn’t know how to disciple their kids at home.

That’s where the Youthworks Kids Read and Kids Pray resources came in. Katie is now translating them into Swahili so they can be more widely shared in Tanzania and neighbouring countries. She says,

“The simple questions in these resources make it an easy first step for parents to read the Bible with their kids at home. Having concrete prayers with really deep, thoughtful words the kids can pray is so helpful.”

What’s more, thanks to the support of generous friends like you, Youthworks CEO Craig Roberts and Youthworks College Principal Mike Dicker visited neighbouring Kenya in March to share Youthworks resources with pastors, helping them raise up disciple-makers amongst their young people.

The resources you help create here are going further than you might imagine.
