A legacy that will keep pointing young people to Jesus

Imagine the joy of knowing your generosity will keep pointing young people towards Jesus – not just today, but for generations to come.

That’s the opportunity you have … to create a lasting legacy. Your legacy can equip gospel-hearted leaders, open doors for children and youth to hear God’s Word and create life-changing moments where young lives are oriented to Christ – moments that will echo into eternity.

One supporter, Megan, grew up across the water from Youthworks’ Port Hacking campsites. From her bedroom window, she could see the sailing boats and orange canoes on the jetty, hear the bell ring for mealtimes, and catch the happy sounds of campers floating across the water. She shares,

“One God was just nudging me to pray for those kids across the water.”

Later at her home church, she found out that one of the young girls that was part of the church family had been on a school camp recently at Deer Park.  That girls’ friend became a Christian at that camp.

“The same camp that I had prayed for as I looked across the water from my family home!”

When her parents passed away, and the family home was sold, Megan was faced with a decision about what to do with the legacy she inherited.

“I feel very blessed that God has been part of my life right through my youth and formative years,” Megan says. “The family home had been my legacy, and the good Lord was my legacy, and those campsites had such a huge legacy … so it was important for me to help them to continue that ministry. I believed quite strongly that God was giving me a gift with the sale of the home, and that it wasn't just for me to go on a shopping spree. It was for me to use for him.”

When God blessed her with resources later in life, Megan knew she wanted to invest them in helping more young people know Jesus through camps.

“To have Him during all of those important growing up years and adult decisions that you make is better than gold.  I want other kids to have that same blessing.”

Like Megan, you can create a lasting legacy now, or leave a gift in your Will — large or small — to the Youthworks Foundation to:

  • equip and sponsor trained workers for ministry.

  • expand gospel reach with more facilities, training and resources.

  • enable new initiatives to reach future generations.

Together, we can see young lives turned towards Jesus — and that’s a legacy worth leaving.
