Youthworks is seeking a Centre Deputy Manager to join our Youthworks Outdoors team at Port Hacking. Youthworks is a Christian organisation dedicated to providing exceptional facilities, services, and Christian outdoor activities and fellowship for a wide range of clients, including (but not limited to) Christian schools, a wide variety of church groups, and independent organisations. Our Conference Centres offers accommodation, food and beverage services, combined with a wide variety of Christian outdoor activities designed to foster Christian discovery, church community, and a deeper relationship with Christ in a serene, safe and supportive environment.
About the role
The Port Hacking Deputy Centre Manager role supports the Centre Manager in providing Christian leadership and operational oversight of the Port Hacking Centre. This position acts as a trusted second-in-charge, assisting the Centre Manager across all aspects of ministry operations, ensuring continuity, clarity, support and team leadership by providing a day-to-day leadership presence for staff. While the Centre Manager retains ultimate responsibility and authority for the Centre, the Deputy plays a key leadership role in enabling effective delivery across all areas of the site.

You will need to demonstrate
Relevant leadership or ministry training
Outdoor education, hospitality, or operational qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience in a ministry, camping, or hospitality environment.
Experience supervising or coordinating teams.
Exposure to operational environments (e.g. camps, venues, hospitality).
Experience supporting or delivering Christian ministry programs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lead and support teams in a dynamic environment.
Sound organisational and problem-solving ability.
Capacity to make decisions under pressure when required.
Commitment to safety, risk management, and operational excellence.
Ability to work both independently and under direction. \
Active involvement in a local church.
A passion for camping ministry and guest discipleship.
Team-oriented with a willingness to support others.
Current drivers licence and own transport are essential as there is no public transport anywhere near the Port Hacking Conference Centres.
Desirable
A background in ministry or significant involvement in Christian communities is desirable
