About the role

The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of maintenance of the Port Hacking & Loftus properties, necessary to support the Youthworks venues and ministry programs. This role is important in ensuring that the properties are maintained to the highest standards and within budget, and that the venues and ministry programs are well-equipped with the necessary infrastructure to achieve organizational objectives.

Your responsibilities

Maintenance Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the Port Hacking & Loftus properties ensuring they meet operational and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate all maintenance contractors ensuring the scope of works is completed within listed requirements and budget.

  • Make recommendations to the PPFF Manager regarding changes to scheduled maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and legislation. Staff Management:

  • Oversee maintenance staff at the Port Hacking & Loftus properties.

  • Assign tasks to the maintenance staff according to individual skill sets and the priority of tasks.

  • Assist the PPFF Manager in the recruitment of maintenance staff.

  • Train, mentor, and performance manage maintenance staff as required.

    Financial Management:

  • Adhere to expenditure limits as approved by the PPFF Manager.

  • Ensure any invoices are authorized & entered into YW systems

  • Before the invoice due date.

  • Ensure that all pay information is completed & submitted fortnightly.

    Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that all operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

    Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to ensure that your part of Youthworks remains focused on Christian Ministry, competitive and innovative.

What we would really like you to have

Qualification

  • Qualification in a trade such as carpentry, or a related field. Or equivalent experience in the field at a trade level.

    Experience

  • 5 years’ minimum experience in the maintenance of commercial buildings/properties, and/or relevant commercial or practical experience, or specific experience in a similar role.

    Experience in Christian Ministry:

  • A background in ministry or significant involvement in Christian communities is desirable. ·

  • Experience leading a team: Experience leading a small team of staff.

  • Professional approach and confident manner.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • A clean driving record is desirable.

  • Verified NSW Working With Children Check number for paid employment.

  • Church-based safe ministry/safe church training.

  • Safework NSW certifications.
