Youthworks to hand over Safe Ministry Training to the PSU
30 March, 2017
From April 1, 2017, Youthworks will be officially handing over responsibility for the content and delivery of Safe Ministry Training to the Professional Standards Unit (PSU) of the Sydney Anglican Diocese.
Youthworks’ Head of Ministry Support, Rev Jon Thorpe said, “Over the last 19 years, Youthworks has worked with the PSU to deliver Safe Ministry Training in the Sydney Diocese. Together we’ve sought to create a culture of best practice when it comes to safe ministry among children and vulnerable people in our churches.”
“The move to hand over responsibility to the PSU creates a ‘one-stop shop’ for all information and resources related to Safe Ministry Training. It streamlines all Safe Ministry-related activities under the leadership of the PSU,” he said.
To mark this transition, the PSU has created a new Safe Ministry Training website including information about upcoming training opportunities and related resources for churches.
Please pray for the PSU as they seek to see a culture of Safe Ministry continue to grow and spread throughout the churches of the Diocese.
