Youthworks CEO Zac Veron announces decision to step down

9 September, 2016

The Rev Zac Veron has announced his decision to step down as CEO of Anglican Youthworks by the end of 2017 at the latest, pending the recruitment of a new CEO.

“This decision has not been an easy one – serving the Lord alongside such committed, hardworking and talented staff at Youthworks has been one of the great blessings of my life”, says Zac. “However, after prayerful consideration, my wife Sheree and I believe my job is done and it is time to seek a fresh ministry challenge.”

Zac has led the organisation for almost 10 years, guiding it through significant challenges including the Global Financial Crisis and the ongoing secularisation of the ministry context in our Diocese. Under God’s faithful hand, Youthworks has also seen significant forward momentum towards the achievement of our Vision and Mission, with more children and youth attending the churches of our Diocese than a decade ago.

Youthworks Council Chairman, Rev Chris Braga, thanked Zac for his leadership of Youthworks, stating, “Zac leaves the organisation with certainty about its mission, clarity about its finances and a leadership team united in a common purpose. He has modelled to everyone a deep commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ and the cause of his gospel.  We are thankful to God for the unique and important contribution Zac has made to this strategic ministry.”
