Weekend Host Casual to join Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education.

Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education leads the way in professional Christian outdoor education. Through the practise of temporary community, the passionate, enthusiastic and highly skilled team use outdoor learning experiences to bring together Bible-based discipleship and outdoor education in a unique and powerful way. The team is made up of a talented bunch of people who love Jesus, seek adventure in the outdoors and believe that not all lessons are best taught in the classroom. They are just as passionate about Christian ministry to young people as they are about adventurous experiences in God’s creation.

About the role

As a Weekend Host you will support the weekend guest groups by ensuring that they are attended to in the area of quality hospitality service including liaising with guests, serving meals and cleaning tasks.

This casual position is approximately 14hours over a Saturday to Sunday period, based around meal times and may include an additional 3 hours on a Friday evening for some weekends. The position is not rostered on every weekend rather it forms part of the roster to ensure year round operations. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality client-centered hospitality service that achieves a pleasant experience for clients and promotes Youthworks in a positive way
  • Daily upkeep and general cleanliness of all general guest areas, hospitality service areas and meal service spaces so as to provide smooth day to day operations
  • Ensure that meal service is provided to client groups in a timely fashion

You will need to demonstrate

The successful applicant will need to be:

  • a committed Christian who is active in their local church
  • experienced in working with people of all ages
  • strong in customer service skills
  • strong in their work ethos
  • strong attention to detail
  • a team player
  • a self-starter who is focused on completing tasks

Own transport and a current drivers licenec is essential as there is no public transport close to the Conference Centres.
