Rev. Andrew Nixon

You can take the boy out of the country... Andrew was raised on a wheat/sheep property, leaving after school to study at UNSW. He joined the Navy at the end of first year uni and stayed on for 13 years. He met his wife Jenny whilst living at New College and they married at age 21.
Andrew left the Navy to work full-time at his church in 2000 as a Lay Worker. He did some further study at MTC along the way and was ordained in 2006. In late 2007 he took the role of Executive Director of Connect09 and in January 2011 became the newest member of the Year 13 team.
Andrew and Jenny have 4 children – Jesse (year 8), Rachel (Year 5), Ethan (Year 2), and Hannah who is 2.

Rev. Andrew Hudson
Chaplain

Andrew studied towards a Diploma in Youth Ministry at Moore College in 1977-78, and then completed his Diploma in Theology in 1992. He served as a Youth Minister at Homebush West in 1979-82 and was a Youthworks Youth Ministry Adviser in Western Sydney during 1982-87. Moving to Lismore in 1988, he served four years as the Youth Minister before being ordained in 1992. From 1995 to 2007 Andrew headed up the ministry at Youthworks' Port Hacking Outdoor Centres.
2008 was a "gap year" for Andrew, as he acted as Rector at Glebe 3.5 days a week and took on a chaplaincy role with Year 13 on Fridays. Andrew joined the team in 2009 and served as Acting Director until the end of 2010.

Trinette Armitt
Assistant Director

Trinette graduated from Youthworks College in 2004 with a Diploma in Theology, having served as Youth Minister at Richmond Anglican Church. She then undertook further study at Sydney Missionary and Bible College and graduated with her Bachelor in Theology, having served as Student Minister at Panania Anglican Church.
In January 2007, Trinette joined the Year 13 team as a lecturer/tutor. In her current role she oversees the day-to-day running of the program, pastoral care and teaching.

Pete Gunning
Lecturer/Tutor

Pete was part of the inaugural student group at Youthworks College in 2000, during which time he served as a youth minister at Multicultural Bible Ministry, Rooty Hill. After graduating, Pete worked with African Enterprise as Mission Director for 5 years, during which time he oversaw the development of the short term mission experience program to Africa. It was in that role that he helped the very first Year 13 group arrange a month long mission trip to Uganda in 2006.
Pete loved Year 13 so much he accepted an offer to join the team as a lecturer/tutor and commenced in January 2007. He brings to this role extensive experience in short-term overseas mission, as well as his skills in youth ministry and a passion for seeing young adults living for Jesus.
He is married to Leila who also works with Anglican Youthworks in Head Office.

Fiona Fenwick

Fiona was part of the inaugural student group at Youthworks College in 2000-2001. After graduating with her Diploma of Theology she went on to study Adult Education at the University of Western Sydney.
Fiona joined the Year 13 team as a founding member of staff in 2006 and spent two years before taking a break to complete further study at Sydney Missionary and Bible College to attain her Bachelor of Theology. She was very excited about re-joining the team again in January 2010!
She is married to Matthew who is also a keen supporter of Year 13 a key volunteer member of the Fiji mission team.
Shelley Cottom
Student Minister

Shelley is currently studying her Advanced Diploma of Theology at Youthworks College. Previously she has worked as a youth intern at Figtree Anglican Church. She has joined the Year 13 team as a student minister to develop her passion for discipleship and teaching.
Shelley is married to Mark, who is a lawyer in Wollongong, where they live.
