Fervr Official Honoree for 2011 Webby Awards
International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences recognizes Christian youth website for outstanding accomplishment
Sydney, NSW (April 20, 2011) – On 12 April 2011, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) announced that the Fervr Christian youth website was selected as an Official Honoree of the 15th Annual Webby Awards in the ‘Religion & Spirituality’ category. The Fervr Christian youth website is owned by Youthworks Media, a leading publisher of children & youth ministry resources.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, often referred to as the ‘Oscars of the web industry’. With nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 US states and over 60 countries, the Official Honoree distinction was awarded to the top 10% of all work entered that exhibited remarkable achievement in content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall experience.
Other Webby Award Official Honorees this year include industry leaders such as the Disney Channel, Lego, Warner Bros, The Economist, Cisco Systems, the Adobe Museum of Digital Media and CNN.com
First launched in April 2009, Fervr is a growing online resource partner for churches, schools, camps and other youth ministries providing regular bible-based articles, pop culture reviews, videos and apologetics written exclusively for youth.
“We never expected Fervr to be recognized on an international level,” said Kitty Fung, Digital Producer. “We’d love to see a greater Christian presence in the digital arts and hopefully this will inspire others to use their gifts to minister to God’s people while contributing to the creative and/or tech community.”
Fervr.net is dedicated to growing young Christians in their knowledge of God, training them to live out their faith and share it with their friends. The aim of Youthworks Media is to develop Fervr into the ‘go-to’ resource that engages with the popular culture whilst giving youth a gospel-centered world view.
