Parish holiday camp rates are subsidised accommodation rates that Youthworks offers to Anglican church youth and childrens' groups when staying four nights or longer in the school holidays.
How much?
Parish holiday camp rates can be as high as 30% off the usual holiday rate. Depending on whether the booking is catered or self-catered you can save up to $15 per night per person.
Why does Youthworks offer this discount?
Youthworks recognises the huge benefit longer camps bring to the spiritual lives of young people. Camping is a real catalyst for personal christian growth as young people are focussing on the same idea for longer than they would at a weekly youth group meeting. Longer camps mean there are greater opportunities to build relationships, to grow as a group and to be changed by the gospel.
Who already takes advantage of parish holiday camp rates?
At present there are 22 churches in Sydney taking advantage of parish holiday camp rates for their youth and childrens' ministry. Some with large ministries have up to three camps a year for hundreds of their young people, one church last year took advantage of these rates for a camp with just 15 young people, but both discovered the value of running longer camps.
When can we go?
NSW public school holiday periods (not including long weekends). They apply to both catered or self-catered bookings.
