Whether your an experienced Special Religious Education (SRE) teacher or thinking about volunteering, we want to help you serve our Lord and the students at your school. We offer a two-part High School Ministry Certificate course conducted in convenient locations throughout Sydney.
Certificate 1 - Principles and Proceedures
Philosophy
Why do high school ministry? What are the different purposes and models of high school ministry and how do you create an Ethos that implements the visions, goals and strategies of your Philosophy?
Promotion / Recruiting
How do you raise the profile of high school ministry in your Church? How do you recruit teachers for the ministry and how do you support them – financially / prayerfully / resources / etc?
Legislation
What are the laws of the ‘Special Religious Education – SRE' in schools in Australia and how do you go through the right procedures and legal forms of setting up ministry at all levels in a high school? What are your rights and responsibilities and how do you liaise with the school and also other denominations and Religions?

Youth Ministry Intensives at Youthworks College
Need some skills for ministry among youth but don't have much time? Youthworks College offers short courses in youth ministry, held over six days in February each year. The subjects form part of the full time Diploma of Theology but can be completed as individual subjects. These are ideal for youth ministers or keen youth workers seeking further training in these ministry areas.

Diploma of Theology at Youthworks College
Our Youthworks College offers a two-year Diploma of Theology, which is awarded through the Australian College of Theology. With a unique combination of community study and ministry involvement, the Diploma aims to equip people of any age with specialised theological and practical training for sharing Jesus with children and youth.
