The Challenge Program combines the benefits of outdoor education, intensive group work and community partnerships

The Challenge Program

Unfortunately, The Challenge Program has been suspended for 2013, pending updated sponsorship arrangements. If you or your organisation would like to know more about the Program, or would like to donate, please get in touch via the means below. Thanks!

The Challenge Program is a unique model of adventure-based learning run by Youthworks Outdoors, which is a division of Anglican Youthworks.

With an early-intervention focus, Youthworks Outdoors developed Challenge in response to the growing levels of social needs for young Australians who may be facing challenges in their lives. In 2012 the program celebrated its 20th year of providing the Challenge program for high-school aged disadvantaged youth.

Our fully qualified Youthworks leaders partner with staff from the Department of Education to take 10-12 young people on the 5 day expedition. The program involves hiking, canoeing, navigating, camping out and abseiling in the beautiful natural environment of the Shoalhaven region, NSW.

We have also partnered with various government departments to provide a Challenge Program for youth from the Juvenile Justice system, as well as working with Anglicare to run the program for displaced and homeless youth in the Sydney area and beyond.
